SNEC (2021) First Day Flash Report: Hydrogen Energy Economy and Green Hydrogen Energy Development

2021/6/4 0:00:002674

On June 3-4, 2021, the SNEC (2021) International Energy Storage and Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell (Shanghai) Technology Conference (hereinafter referred to as the "Conference") was grandly held at the Kerry Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai.

The theme of this conference is "Enabling'Green Hydrogen' and Helping Carbon Neutrality". Professor Tan Tianwei, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and Chairman of China Renewable Energy Society, served as the chairperson. More than 30 experts and guests discussed together The entire hydrogen energy industry chain focuses on technological breakthroughs and commercial development of energy storage and renewable energy production of "green hydrogen", aiming to promote the technical exchange and expansion of solar energy, energy storage and hydrogen energy in the comprehensive utilization of energy.

Highlights: Hydrogen energy economy and green hydrogen energy development

At the theme forum (1) on the afternoon of June 3, experts discussed the role of hydrogen energy economy in carbon peaking, hydrogen energy to solve the problem of new energy consumption, and renewable energy electrolysis to produce "green" hydrogen technology. , PEM hydrogen-to-electric conversion technology, catalytic materials and system applications, and green hydrogen's role and strategy in the energy transition.

The views of China Hydrogen Energy Network's refining and finishing are as follows:

Green Hydrogen is the best choice to improve the environment, maintain green and sustainable development, and enhance the quality of human life. According to Dr. Yu Hongmei of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, it is predicted that 2020-2030 will be in the early enlightenment stage (gray hydrogen), 2025-2035 will be in the mid-term transition stage (blue hydrogen), and the final goal will be reached by 2030-2050 (green hydrogen). ). The fundamentals of the "dual carbon economy" are emission reduction, zero emission and reuse. China’s carbon emission reduction is urgent. Reducing traffic congestion is an effective supplementary means to reduce carbon. It can save electricity, use hydrogen to capture carbon, and combine wind, light, nuclear, water, and heat to jointly promote the development of green energy and change the energy structure. Or it will promote the "dual-carbon economy" to become a new round of economic growth.

The application of hydrogen energy goes far beyond the transportation field. It will be promising in the fields of hydrogen metallurgy, shipbuilding, household cogeneration, and opening up power grids and fuel grids. The joint development model of hydrogen energy + energy storage + fuel cell helps to break through barriers and form technological synergy. According to Mr. Chen Zhilei from the Solar Energy Testing Department of China Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd., my country’s electricity consumption has increased year-on-year in recent years, and the amount of electricity curtailed has decreased year-on-year. Or it will solve the problem of large-scale and long-distance power transmission.

China may be the first to enter the hydrogen energy era, but it should go out of its own hydrogen energy development route. The current pain points in the hydrogen energy industry are the industrial chain matching, cost, life and performance. The problems that need to be overcome are the localization of basic materials and core components. A weak foundation will not make it a technological power. Professor Fan Qinbai, Dean of China Energy Engineering Group Shanghai Institute of Hydrogen Energy, pointed out: The fundamental solution to the problem must be a comprehensive optimization and a market economy suitable for society.

There is still a gap between my country and the international hydrogen energy industry, especially in the field of hydrogen production by electrolysis of water. At present, our country is mainly based on alkaline electrolyte electrolysis, and foreign countries have passed this stage. Proton exchange membrane electrolysis (PEM) hydrogen production technology has been widely used.

In the hydrogen energy industry, quality, safety, cost, equipment, science popularization, and training are equally important. Companies may consider starting to develop first-line technicians and skilled workers.

Find the way of energy and set the future direction. The progress of human civilization is often accompanied by an energy revolution. The green, intelligent, and digitized hydrogen energy + energy storage will be the future development direction. As long as the accuracy of technology and direction is firmly grasped, hydrogen energy will surely set off A green wave of energy revolution.
